Diet for Smelly Feet Sufferers by Dr. Roseline Hamsley
Most of us have heard the old saying “your are what you eat”. Naturally this isn’t true however believe it or not your sweat will compose of different chemicals and minerals based on the type of food that you eat. What this means is that you can actually control the constitution of your sweat purely by controlling what you eat. Brilliant isn’t it?
This is especially important for people who suffer from smelly feet. Since bacteria feeds of all the waste that is excreted through the sweat, you should strive to get as little waste and minerals through your sweat and if possible also reduce the amount of sweating so that the bacteria have a hard time spawning at your feet.
Firstly let us go into food that isn’t recommended for people who have foot odor problems. The first thing to understand is that the skin is one of the organs in a body that is tasked to get rid of body waste through sweating. If your body has a lot of waste then it is only logical that more waste will be excreted from the body in the form of sweat. If there is very little waste then the body doesn’t need to dump waste through sweat but purely through the urine or fesses. There are certain types of foods that when processed by the body, creates a lot of waste. The main food element that will create waste is Protein. The processing of protein from meats or beans produces a large quantity of waste products that will inadvertently have to be excreted through the sweat. There are other types of food such as asparagus, garlic and onions that although don’t create much waste will actually transfer their odors to sweat which will unfortunately add to the medley of foot smells. The general rule to follow is that if you eat anything smelly, your sweat might end up smelly too and protein makes for a lot of waste which is great for bacteria.
