Smelly Feet and Socks

One of the ways to actually remove moisture and sweat from your feet is to wear socks. It’s then obvious that since the purpose of it is to remove the sweat and moisture, the best socks are made from the most absorbent materials. Generally the most absorbent materials are from nature, fabrics like cotton, wool or even silk are the best at taking up sweat and moisture. Socks made from man made materials like polyester aren’t very absorbent and aren’t particularly good at soaking up sweat and moisture. It has to be said that thick socks are also beneficial but be very sure that these socks are clean, the thicker the socks the harder they are to clean.

As good as socks are at soaking up sweat and moisture, it’s also good at keeping bacteria alive if it isn’t cleaned and washed properly. If you suffer from very severe foot odor you should consider changing your socks and cleaning your feet a few times a day just to make sure they are always fresh and odor free. That also goes for the cleaning of your socks. It is vitally important that socks are cleaned properly and dried thoroughly to ensure that bacteria doesn’t continue to live in the socks.

In order to keep smelly feet at bay you must develop a good hygienic habit of cleaning you feet and socks thoroughly before use. The trick to cleaning feet is to use warm water. Warm water opens up the pours so you can get a much better clean. After cleaning make sure you dry them off properly then before wearing the socks, put some baking soda or talcum powder in the socks. This, for me is the best solution to getting you feet nice and fresh and ready for a days work.
